Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?
Jace is an amazing Basketball Player (point guard). He is always the first one on the court & the last to leave. He is currently a Sophomore at Branford High School. Jace has been playing basketball since he was 5, at the age of 10 he made the choice that this was his one and only passion, He has gone full throttle, round year since that. When Jace is not playing for his school or his AAU Team (CT Elite) you can find him on any court here in Town getting "shots up" as he puts it. He knows to be the best you have to play with the best and learn from the best (always studying the game and his opponents and his teammates). He has played with and played up against some amazing players throughout CT, MA & NY and has been coached by some the best including Chris Watts (Mercy Head Basketball Coach) and most recent Pete Simoulidis (Monroe High School). He has helped lead his AAU Team into two Championships just this season. His energy on the court is unparalleled. He attends every training camp/showcase camp available to him. He has recently trained with Western Connecticut University Basketball Team (invite only). He has been asked to attend ISA Prep School - where his main focus will be basketball & studies. (International Sports Academy in Ohio). Schooling has not always come easy to Jace; He learned that the hard way as a Freshmen; That didn't stop him from making the team, he attended every practice & every game as a teammate. Jace put in the work (attending after school programs and tutoring) he needed to in order to play, He had the most improved GPA in a semester and was able to join his team on the court. He continues to do his best when it comes to his studies as he understands that being that the best student is part of being the best player he can be. Jace's hard work deserves some recognition.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star student athlete?
I would like everyone to know that Jace is extremely dedicated to his sport but more so dedicated to his family & friends. He knows that training, dedication, patience & hard work will pay off when you put the work in. He knows that there will be good days & bad days. He is the one who will ALWAYS make you laugh, he is strong, and compassionate to many.
Keep up the great work, Jace 10th!
