Branford Stop & Shop Donates 20,000 Diapers To The Diaper Bank Of CT
In support of National Diaper Need Awareness Week, at the Leetes Island Road store, the 20K donated diapers will help families across CT.
BRANFORD, CT — In a special event in support of National Diaper Need Awareness Week at the Branford Stop & Shop Tuesday, the supermarket donated 20,000 diapers to The Diaper Bank of Connecticut. On hand were Stop & Shop and diaper bank officials. A truck was loaded with the 20,000 diapers before delivering them to DBCT’s warehouse in North Haven.
The event at the 22 Leetes Island Road store was also part of a diaper drive occurring in six area Stop & Shop stores, including Branford, from Sept. 24 to Oct. 16.
In addition to diapers, Stop & Shop will also donate $5,000 to DBCT. The additional donation will support the nonprofit’s mission to provide free infant and toddler diapers, period products, and youth and adult incontinence supplies to low-income families across Connecticut.

Stop & Shop’s donation will help families in need across Connecticut. DBCT is the largest diaper bank in Connecticut, having donated more than 31.2 million free diapers to low-income families through its extensive 100+ agency network since its founding in 2004.
The initiative is part of Stop & Shop’s larger 100,000 diaper donation for National Diaper Need Awareness Week (September 24 - October 2), which draws attention to the critical issue in the U.S. where 1 in 3 families struggle to afford diapers. Five recipient diaper banks across Stop & Shop’s operating area will each receive 20,000 Nature’s Promise® diapers ranging in sizes from 1 through 6 to help families in need.
