BRANFORD, CT —Branford's Clean Energy Committee was chosen to receive a $25,000 grant as part of the Energize Connecticut Community Partnership Initiative, sponsored by Eversource and Southern Connecticut Gas. The Partnership offers money and energy savings through the Small Business Energy Advantage and municipal buildings programs. The grant will support the CEC’s outreach to Branford businesses.

“I am proud that the Clean Energy Committee has obtained this support. It brings funds into the town to help save Branford businesses money and energy, Branford First Selectman James Cosgrove said. "It also recognizes the success of the HeatSmart residential program that was initiated last year which promoted clean energy while saving homeowners money by investing in clean, efficient heat pump energy systems.”

In addition to making energy efficiency affordable and accessible, Partnership goals include familiarizing residents and businesses with the many energy efficiency solutions offered by the Energize Connecticut sponsors.
