Branford's Comey Nominated By Dems For New House Term
State Rep. Robin Comey, D-Branford, was unanimously nominated by local Democrats to seek a third term representing the 102nd House District.

BRANFORD, CT — State Rep. Robin Comey, D-Branford, was nominated and received a unanimous vote of support by the Branford Democrats to represent the 102nd District in Branford.
The Democratic convention to select a candidate for state representative was Wednesday, May 18, at the Branford Community Center.
Comey was first elected in 2018 and serves in leadership positions in the General Assembly including House vice chair of the insurance and real estate committee and a member of the education committee and committee on children.

“I have personal knowledge of many of her humanitarian efforts. She has a great sense of fairness and is compassionate about the issues of every Branford resident regardless of their background or beliefs,” said Ram Shrestha, of the local Democratic committee, in nominating Comey.
Comey reflected on recent times and the difficulties experienced in the community.
“The past four years have taken a toll on so many of our neighbors,” Comey said. “It was the honor of a lifetime to be able to impact our entire community, many who were frontline workers and took such great care of us.”
On the recent state budget passage, Comey said “I’m proud to have supported a budget that provided $650 million dollars in tax relief, invested in business, child tax credits and social services. We prioritized our children’s mental health and our schools, lifting many of Connecticut’s children and families out of poverty.”

Comey is married and has two children living in the Short Beach section of Branford.
