Branford's Education Hall of Fame Dinner Honors Ten Residents

A list of honorees are included, along with information ticket information and a ticket request form.

For the 18th consecutive year, Branford’s Education Hall of Fame will honor ten individuals who have made significant contributions to education. Since its birth in 1998, the Education Hall of Fame has taken a broad view of the term “education” as it has recognized individuals whose work has enhanced, expanded and facilitated learning.

Selected from a list of over one hundred nominees, the 2015 Hall of Fame inductees are Terry K. Ahern, retired Branford High School social studies teacher; Laura Selvaggio Burban, Director of Branford’s Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter; Rhonda Louise Butler, licensed child care provider and day care director; Michelina B. Fazzino, retired Branford High School chemistry teacher; Ellen Levy Greenberg, teacher in the Linda B. Chipkin Early Years program at Indian Neck School; Diane Kaczynski, retired Mary T. Tisko second grade teacher and reading specialist; Pam Mahon, occupational therapist who provides services to Branford Public School children through ACES; and Susan Swart, retired teacher and reading specialist at Mary T. Tisko School. Rosalie Pinkham, elementary school teacher and professor of Elementary School Education at Southern Connecticut State University; and Elwyn “Cappy” Thayer, who served at the Center School for 70 years, will be inducted posthumously

Ticket Information: Tickets are $50.00. Checks should be made out to Branford’s Education Hall of Fame and sent to 5 Helen Road, Branford, CT 06405. Please include your choice of meal, telephone number and e-mail address. Additional information is available at 203-481-3845. The deadline for ticket requests: April 16

Please indicate the inductee you are honoring by attending the dinner and you will be seated at a table with others who are honoring that inductee. Tables of eight (8) may be purchased at $400.00 each. An individual who purchases a table of eight is responsible for communicating who will sit at the table and their respective meal selections by April 16.
