Branford's 'First Nite' Event Friday Canceled Due To COVID Cases

Branford Parks & Recreation Department says that when case numbers improve, the event committee hopes to host a "special town celebration."

BRANFORD, CT — Due to the major uptick of positive COVID-19 cases in Branford, the First Nite 2022 celebration, which was to be held Friday night, has been canceled, the town announced Monday afternoon.

"And with due regard to the safety and health environment within the town," the event originally slated to be held on the Town Green from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. has been scuttled.

But, it's noted that the "event committee will look into hosting a special town celebration when the outbreak of cases improves, making it possible for a future event."
