Branford's Lonnie Reed Decides Her Political Future
Reed is finishing up her fifth-term in the General Assembly.

BRANFORD, CT — Lonnie Reed has told the Branford Eagle's Marcia Chambers that she won't seek reelection after five terms, or 10 years in the General Assembly.
In the interview, Reed told the Branford Eagle, “It’s been just a remarkable experience and I love it. Serving is an incredible honor. But I also realize that there are other things in my life. I am not a career politician and it was never a desire of mine to be here forever. I want to return to other aspects of my life,” she said.
Reed has had an extraordinary career as a journalist and filmmaker and even secured multiple Emmy awards for her various works.
