“A Journey Through the Roots of American Popular Music,” is a program of songs and stories about the origins of the blues, rock and country music presented by singer and songwriter Jon Waterman. In the show, Jon is joined by Li Waterman on bass. The program, which also features an accompanying slideshow, explores some of the fascinating characters and events that are part of the history and the role of music in our lives.

group meets the first Tuesday of every month to have a non-judgemental, 
civil discussion of various titles that are being challenged and banned,
 both locally and nationally. The purpose of this book club is to 
simultaneously discuss these titles, and to bring awareness to the rapid
 rise of book challenges and bans. Guilford's July 4th Town Fireworks 2026 Guilford Fairgrounds Saturday, July 11, 2026 (Rain date: Sunday, July 12)
Celebrate summer with an evening of live music and fireworks at the Guilford Fairgrounds. Gates open at 6 p.m., with festivities scheduled from 6 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.
The event will feature live music by the Shaded Soul Band from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m., followed by the town fireworks display.

Attendees planning to park at the fairgrounds are encouraged to purchase parking passes in advance. Passes purchased online through June 21 will be mailed during the week of June 22. A $1.50 convenience fee applies to online purchases.
If passes remain available after June 21, they may be purchased beginning June 22 at the Guilford Community Center, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Branford Scouting (Cub Pack 633, Troop 633/1633 & Venturing 633)

Branford Scouting has been building citizenship, leadership skills, and a spirit of adventure in youth for over 10 years, serving ages 5–20 through four dynamic programs. Through experiential learning, Branford scouts experience adventures from ice climbing to sailing in the Florida Keys, with campouts all year round for our older scouts. Our commitment to country is reflected in where we meet—serving our veterans at Branford’s VFW Post 12106—and through meaningful experiences like our recent trip to Washington, D.C., where scouts participated in the Changing of the Guard at Arlington National Cemetery and presented a wreath in honor of our fallen heroes. Our younger Cub Scouts also demonstrate patriotism by marching in parades and placing flags at cemeteries, just like their older peers. They enjoy fun and discovery at weekly meetings and through memorable outings, such as an overnight at the Norwalk Maritime Center, sleeping aboard the World War II battleship USS Massachusetts, and exploring the EcoTarium museum.
