This month we’re watching <a href="https://br.catalog.lionlibraries.org/GroupedWork/6aa186bd-0d45-6e91-e62d-6d74c84bb43e/Home?searchId=184757669&amp;recordIndex=1&amp;page=1&amp;searchSource=local" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">The Ghost and Mrs. Muir</a> (1947) a supernatural romantic fantasy starring Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison. It was directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, and is based on a 1945 novel written by Josephine Leslie. In 1900, a young widow finds her seaside cottage is haunted and forms a unique relationship with the ghost. It was nominated for the Academy Awards for Best Cinematography, Black-and-White. The film was ranked 73rd on AFI's 100 Years...100 Passions list in 2002 by the American Film Institute.

Officers with the Branford Police Department will host a Tip-A-Cop event to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut at Lenny’s Indian Head Inn located at 205 S. Montowese Street in Branford on Monday, September 28, between 12 PM to 9 PM.
During the event, law enforcement will volunteer their time to work with restaurant employees and welcome customers, take orders and serve meals to diners. All tips the officers receive will be dedicated to helping Special Olympics Connecticut provide life-changing sports, health, and fitness programs to athletes of all abilities. Tip-A-Cop is a Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Connecticut event. About the Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Connecticut
The Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics Connecticut is a year-round program and one of the movement's largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicles. Officers organize and host fundraisers that include but are not limited to Tip-a-Cop, Cop-on-Top and Penguin Plunge events, all to benefit local Special Olympics athletes.
A highlight of the program is the annual three-day Torch Run which takes place every June. During the Torch Run, officers from police departments and law enforcement agencies across the state run and carry the Special Olympics "Flame of Hope" more than 500 miles through their towns and cities to the site of the Special Olympics Connecticut Summer Games.

<h3>Women &amp; Family Life Center Offering Bereavement Support Group This Fall</h3>
W&amp;FLC will offer an eight-session Bereavement Support Group this fall for individuals navigating grief and loss.
Led by social worker Dr. Margo Merin, the group offers a supportive and confidential space to process grief, share experiences, connect with others, and feel supported through the grieving process. The group recognizes that grief is deeply personal and can look different for everyone.
The group will meet Mondays from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. at the Women &amp; Family Life Center Carriage House, 96 Fair Street in Guilford.
Sessions will be held on September 28; October 5, 19 and 26; and November 2, 9, 16 and 23.
