Celebrate 100th Anniversary Of 19th Amendment Wednesday

The town honors "the suffrage centennial and the courageous suffragists who never gave up the fight for equality," at Town Hall Wednesday.

BRANFORD, CT — To celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution giving women the right to vote, the town has an outdoor ceremony slated for Wednesday at noon in front of Town Hall.

"Join us as we honor the suffrage centennial and the courageous suffragists who never gave up the fight for equality," an invitation from the town reads, part of the Connecticut Suffrage Centennial.

Speakers include Rep Robin Comey, Carol Reimers, president of the Connecticut League of Women Voters, Roberta Gil– Brooks Branford tax collector and First Selectman Jamie Cosgrove.
