Chipotle Mexican Grill Proposed for Branford

A Chipotle Mexican Grill has been proposed for a strip mall on the corner of Commercial Parkway and Route 1 in Branford.

The restaurant would be located near a Subway, a cigar shop, Moon Star Chinese Restaurant and a Starbucks. Currently, the closest Chipotle to Branford is in New Haven.

The Branford Seven reports that the new restaurant plan calls expanding the current parking lot from 32 to 36 spaces through a proposed easement.

Massachusetts-based Centercorp Retail Properties owns the property, and John Mancini of BL Companies spearheaded the recent presentation to the Planning and Zoning Commission.

A vote on the proposal is expected in the near future.
