2015 Christopher Martins Christmas Run for Children Expects 2,500 Runners!

New Haven, CT - The 31st Annual Christopher Martins Christmas Run for Children expects a crowd of 2,500 on Sunday, December 13. In the past thirty years, the event has donated over 60,000 toys to needy children in New Haven during the Christmas season. Participants are offered a reduced entry fee if they choose to donate a toy! Patrons and spectators are encouraged to donate toys on race day as well. With your help, race organizers are expecting to distribute over 3,000 toys this season.

The 5k race runs along State Street and Orange Street before passing the historic New Haven Green and returning to Christopher Martins via State Street. Participants are encouraged to bring their holiday spirit and run in costume! Following the 5k, Christopher Martins Christmas Run for Children hosts one of the nation’s best post-race parties! Live music, delicious food and refreshing beer for 21+ are provided by Christopher Martins Restaurant.

The event offers early packet pick-up and race registration hosted by Trailblazer (296 Elm Street, New Haven, CT) on December 11 & 12 from 10am-6pm. Packet pick-up and race day registration begins at 8am at Christopher Martins Restaurant at 860 State Street in New Haven.

“New Haven has been great to Christopher Martin’s over the years. This event is a small way to show our appreciation and give back to the community,” stated Chris Vigilante, co-owner of Christopher Martin’s Restaurant.

John Bysiewicz, director of some of Connecticut’s top running events, is directing the race again this year. Bysiewicz coordinates the Faxon Law New Haven Road Race, 99.1 PLR ShamRock & Roll and the Branford Road Race.
