Convicted Arsonist Asks Court To Overturn Decision In Kathy Hardy Homicide
Hardy, a 39-year-old Branford mother, was killed in 2006 in a fire set by John Vailette.

BRANFORD, CT — John Valiette, who was convicted in the 2006 arson death of 39-year-old Branford resident Kathy Hardy, is looking to have his conviction overturned, reports the New Haven Register.
Lawyers for Valiette claim one of the prosecution witnesses perjured themselves during the trial. He is scheduled to be sentenced in April.
Valiette and Steven Martone were accused of setting the fire that killed Hardy in her home. Martone was later acquitted.
