Schools, senior center and libraries are closed, parks and rec programs postponed and more of the latest COVID-19 information from the town

BRANFORD, CT — Here is the latest message from town officials on Branford's response to coronavirus.
Community Message - COVID-19
As you know, The Town of Branford is working closely with the East Shore District Health Department, federal, state and healthcare providers to monitor the 2019 Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The town is initiating the following measures to limit the exposure of our residents to the virus:
Schools - All schools will be closed effective Monday, March 16, 2020 including all after school activities until March 27, 2020.

Parks and Recreation - Beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, the Parks and Recreation Department will suspend all programs for two weeks. For more information, please click the following link http://branfordct.myrec.com/info/default.aspx or call 203-488-8304.
Senior Center – Beginning Monday, programs and activities held at the Canoe Brook Senior Center will be suspended for two weeks. Other services such as social service assistance applications will still be available. Libraries - Beginning today, the James Blackstone Memorial Library and Willoughby Wallace Library are closed to the public. Please contact the libraries via phone or email for additional information. Animal Shelter - Effective today, the Daniel Cosgrove Animal Shelter will suspend all volunteer activity for two weeks and the building will be closed to walk in visitors.
