Costco No Longer Interested in Branford Site: Report
BREAKING: The town's first selectman says he's committed to bringing economic development to Branford.

BRANFORD, CT — It's over for real this time. Costco representatives are no longer interested in pursing plans to build in Branford on land off of Exit 56 owned by Wayne Cook, the Branford Seven reports.
A group of concerned residents have opposed the project and costs have been escalating for Costco, reports Branford Seven Editor Steven M. Mazzacane. Costco officials thanked First Selectman James B. Cosgrove for his support on the project and Cosgrove said he's disappointed Costco won't become a reality in town. He said he's committed to bringing more economic development to town.
If Costco would have come to town it's estimated the project would have generated $800,000 annually in tax revenue.
