Costco officials likely withdrew plans because they want more time for the commission’s consultant to review their plans prior to a public hearing, the Eagle reports.
The extra time will also allow Costco officials more time to respond to the Inland Wetlands consultants feedback, the report states.

The proposed Costco development master plan has been approved by the Planning and Zoning Board but still requires Inland Wetlands approval before it can proceed. First Selectman James B. Cosgrove, who was re-elected this week has been a big proponent of the Costco development.
