Deceased Seal Found By Branford Boaters In Waters Off Guilford: Report
The discovery was made near Faulkner's Island in Guilford.

GUILFORD, CT — A deceased seal was found in the waters near Faulkner's Island in Guilford last week, apparently killed by a fishing hook it had swallowed, reports the New Haven Register.
The seal was found by Branford residents Kenny Wynne and Kamran Farid, who were out in Wynne's boat on a seal watch. The friends were not expecting to find a dead one, however, the publication writes.
Scientists from Mystic Aquarium performed the necropsy on the subadult male gray seal to determine the cause of death, which resulted from the hook embedding in the seal's stomach causing complications.
