Tuesday's Democrat Primary Determines Candidate For 98th District Seat

BRANFORD, CT — Tuesday is the Democrat primary election for the 98th House District, held by Sean Scanlon (D-Guilford), who is running for state comptroller in the general election.

In the race, Moira Rader, vice chair of the Guilford board of education and progressive Democrat Andy Gottlieb face off as the primary candidates.

The 98th House District includes most of Guilford and part of Branford.

The ballot

Rader, the endorsed Democratic candidate, spells out where she stands on issues ranging from education and the environment to affordable, women's and mental health care, gun safety and voting rights. Read more here.

The polls are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

An absentee ballot must be received by the municipal clerk by the close of the polls if it is mailed or if it is returned by a member of the immediate family of the applicant in person or the qualified designee of an ill or physically disabled ballot applicant in person.
