Did Branford Residents Pick Trump or Clinton for President?

Full election results and numbers were released for all races that Branford residents voted on.

BRANFORD, CT — On Election Night in Branford residents preferred Hillary Clinton over Donald Trump by a margin of 8,452 to 6,585.

Clinton earned 54 percent of the vote in Branford, Trump received 42 percent, while Gary Johnson earned 344 or 2.2 percent of the votes and Jill Stein received 201 votes or 1.29 percent.

In the race for U.S. Senate, Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., amassed on multiple lines 9,218 and 792 votes and his opponent Dan Carter, a Republican, received 4,884 votes. Blumenthal earned 61 percent of the vote in Branford.

Incumbent Rosa DeLauro, a Democrat, received 9,331 and 887 votes on multiple lines and Angel Cadena, a Republican, received 4,912 votes. DeLauro received 61.67 percent of the vote in Branford.

In Branford, in the 12th Senatorial District is Democrat Edward Kennedy Jr. who earned 9,248 and 801 votes on multiple lines and Republican candidate Bruce Wilson Jr.received 4,893 and 197 votes on multiple lines.

Kennedy earns a second term with 61 percent of the vote in Branford. Wilson is a Madison resident.
In the 102nd State House District Democrat Lonnie Reedearned 6,878 or 57.5 percent of the vote and Republican candidate Christopher Kelly received 5,068 votes or 42.5 percent.

Reed earned a fifth-term as a state representative. Kelly is a member of the Branford Planning and Zoning Commission.

In the 98th State House District Democrat Sean Scanlonran unopposed and earned 2,046 and 310 votes on multiple voting lines. Scanlon, a Democrat, is completing his first term.

Democrat Daniel J. Hally earned 8,085 votes and Republican Marion E. Bukard received 6,432 votes for registrar of voters.
