Regional Water Authority crews are responding to reports of discolored water in Branford. Discoloration occurs when naturally occurring minerals that normally settle to the bottom of a water main are stirred up. Discolored water may look unappealing, so we recommend that consumers wait until it clears before drinking or washing laundry. As always, people with compromised immune systems should consult their physician before ingesting it.
