Driver Charged After Striking Pedestrian: Police
Roberto Ramirez, 44, was charged by Branford Police with second-degree assault with a motor vehicle and many other charges.

BRANFORD, CT — Police have charged a 44-year-old man in connection with the pedestrian accident Thursday on Brushy Plain Road.
Police said a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near Mary T. Murphy Elementary School Thursday afternoon. The roadway was closed for a period of time. The person that was hit was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Friday police report the arrest of Roberto Ramirez, 44, of 129 Brushy Plain Road. Ramirez was charged with second-degree assault with a motor vehicle, first-degree reckless endangerment, driving under the influence, reckless driving, evading responsibility/serious physical injury, and other traffic-related charges.

He was released on a $2,500 bond.
Police said Thursday the pedestrian suffered non-life threatening injures.
