Election 2022: CT Social Workers Back Branford State Rep. Robin Comey
CT PACE, the Political Action Committee of National Association of Social Workers/CT endorsed incumbent Democrat Rep. Comey, she announced.

BRANFORD, CT —CT PACE, the Political Action Committee of National Association of Social Workers/CT announced its endorsement of incumbent Democrat Robin Comey in the contest for State Representative for the 102nd District, serving the Town of Branford.
NASW is the largest membership organization of professional social workers in the world and is considered a leading voice on many issues currently on the front burner for Connecticut residents and families, including education, mental health and abortion rights.

As Assistant Majority Leader, Comey is a driving force on these topics at the State Capitol,
where she serves on the Committee on Children, the Education Committee, and the lnsurance and Real Estate Committee. She has played a central role in the state's historic investment in children's mental health, as well as in pandemic response measures to protect and strengthen parity for health insurance coverage. She's witnessed the power of improving the mental health of our children and how Connecticut is bringing hope to families throughout the state.

"At a time when the COVID pandemic has led to a dizzying spike in mental health problems
for our children, and as a mental health professional and parent, we need Robin in the State Capitol now more than ever, as an advocate for our families," she said.
In accepting the Social Workers'endorsement, Comey noted that her parents were social workers.
"They instilled in me the value of public service as a way to help improve the lives of others. That's why I'm especially honored to have the endorsement of the National Association of Social Workers-Connecticut PACE," she said. "Thank you for walking in the shoes of others, bearing witness to the suffering, and believing in the power of an individual to find the strength to continue."
