Elite Hockey Academy's ‘Skate for a Cure’ Raises $6,000
The funds will support the research mission of Cure Rare Disease and Max Herzog, 6, of Branford, who lives with Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

NORTHFORD, CT —Elite Hockey Academy helped raise over $6,000 during its “Skate for a Cure” fundraiser earlier this month at the Northford Ice Pavilion.
The event benefited the research mission of Cure Rare Disease and 6-year-old Max Herzog of Branford, who lives with Duchenne muscular dystrophy, a rare genetic disease that limits muscle development over time.
Elite Hockey President Peter Alden is a friend and neighbor of the Herzog family. The event featured a friends-and-family skate followed by a game between Elite Hockey and 18U rival Yale Junior Bulldogs.
