Rock the World! Family Day

The New Haven Museum will be hosting a variety of family programs during the month of February. All activities are designed for children (ages 4 up) and their families to discover history and art at the New Haven Museum.

Rock the World! A Family Day will take place on Saturday, February 4th from 10 AM – 2:30 PM. The family event highlights the new exhibition, New Haven’s Sentinels: The Art & Science of East and West Rock, on view at the Museum until May 2012. The event will feature art activities and Park Ranger Joe Milone from the West Rock Nature Center. Ranger Joe Milone is also adjunct faculty in the Recreation & Leisure Studies Department at Southern Connecticut State University. Children will be able to view some of the depictions of East and West Rocks on display and then create their own artwork inspired by what they see in the gallery. Artwork from this event will be collected and displayed in a new exhibit that will be on view at the New Haven Museum during the spring. Refreshments will be served. Admission is $5 per child and free for Members.

Refreshments will be served at the Museum, but visitors are welcome to bring their own lunch. Please note that children must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times in the Museum.
