BRANFORD, CT —For those in need, Farmers-to-Families food boxes are being distributed Friday at the Canoe Brook Center at 46 Church St. from 11:15 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. But the distribution is on a first-come, first-served basis. There are 126 food boxes available.

The federally-funded program provides a subsidy to farmers and food to communities. In February, it's New York-based farmers providing the food.

Folks are advised to renter the Canoe Brook Center parking lot from Prospect Strret and exit at Church Street. People must remain in their cars, wearing face masks, when they drive up to the pick up location.
