Father’s Day was first celebrated in 1910, just a few years after the first celebration. Sonora Smart Dodd is credited with starting the first Father’s Day in honor of her father, who raised six children on his own after his wife died in childbirth. Believe it or not, it was only made an official holiday in 1972!
