FEMA Teams Doing Hurricane Ida Damage Assessments In Branford
New Haven County property damaged by Hurricane Ida now have FEMA help to recoup losses as a result of the September storm.

BRANFORD, CT — In Branford, damage from Hurricane Ida was largely seen on Bassett Road and Toole Drive. Now, with the news reported by Patch that New Haven County was added to the existing FEMA Individual Assistance presidential major disaster declaration, federal "survivor assistance" teams are hitting the streets.
The town alerted residents that beginning Monday, FEMA Disaster Survivor Assistance teams will be going door-to-door outreach. The town noted that FEMA is working from an existing preliminary damage assessment list that includes Bassett Road and Toole Drive.

It's noted that the FEMA teams work in teams of two to conduct outreach to "survivors." Those also include faith-based organizations, community based organizations, and local businesses in a disaster-affected area that have been identified by local emergency management directors.
