Final Vote on Branford Costco Plans Proving Elusive
A final vote is now expected to occur in early July.

Nothing to see here at least for now, concerning a final vote on the proposed Costco plans in Branford.
A vote was expected Thursday night but the Planning and Zoning Board decided to wait until July 9 to make a final vote.
An approval with conditions is still the likeliest outcome as the PZB has been considering a resolution for approval for the past month, reports the New Haven Register’s Esteban L. Hernandez.

Three of five voting members of the Planning & Zoning Commission are leaning toward approval of the Costco’s Exit 56 master plan, according to the Shore Publishing.
The PZC met June 4 and didn’t reach a decision regarding Costco’s request for development, as well as their special exception request to combine five individual, contiguous land parcels to create a light industrial/small retail zone accessible from Interstate 95 at Exit 56, the Shore Publishing reported.

Building the 160,000-square-foot facility on the majority of a 44-acre parcel will be the beginnings of Phase One, the Shore Publishing reported. Phase Two would add seven to-be-determined retail/commercial buildings sometime in the future.
Coscto’s application was submitted back in February and created a lot of conversation amongst the town at public hearings, but the overall consensus is mostly in favor of the plan, the Shore Publishing reported.
