Fire Breaks Out At Branford Business, Fire Officials Say
Fire crews battled a blaze at the local business Thursday.
BRANFORD, CT — The Branford Fire Department responded to a fire at Giovanni Auto Body, located at 155 West Main Street around 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
Fire crews found a working fire inside a spray paint booth within a garage bay, with an extension into the building’s ventilation system, officials said.
Branford Fire Department personnel quickly extinguished the fire, officials said. The East Haven Fire Department stretched a back-up hose line while additional firefighters accessed the roof and successfully extinguished the fire within the ventilation system, officials said.

During operations, crews encountered a broken fire hydrant. Firefighters quickly established a water supply from an alternate hydrant, allowing suppression efforts to continue without interruption, officials said.
No injuries were reported. One occupant was displaced from an apartment located within the same building.

"The Branford Fire Department would like to thank our emergency dispatchers, the Branford Police Department for traffic control, and the East Haven and Guilford Fire Departments for providing mutual aid and assistance at the scene," fire officials said.
The Branford Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
