Guilford Dunkin' Donuts Invites Community to Meet Employee Anders Carlson
Join the Guilford school community at Dunkin' Donuts on Saturday, March 12 and support their "End the R-Word" Campaign.
GUILFORD, CT (March 9, 2016) -- On Saturday, March 12, 2016, local Dunkin’ Donuts franchisees the D’Andrea Group will celebrate employee Anders Carlson, an individual with Down syndrome, by participating in the national End the R-Word Campaign. Guests are invited to sign the pledge to eliminate the derogatory use of the “R-word” from their vocabulary, and as a thank you will receive a complimentary “Spread the Word to End the Word” wristband.
The community is invited to celebrate Carlson in his work environment and support the R-Word Campaign by visiting the Guilford Dunkin’ Donuts at 556 Boston Post Road where he is employed. Guilford High School Unified Sports members will be collecting signatures from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. All guests will be encouraged to sign the pledge and their signatures will join those of nearly 2,000 Guilford student and faculty members. Signatures will be on display in the Dunkin’ Donuts restaurant following the event.
Carlson is a 20 year-old Guilford High School graduate who is currently enrolled in the school’s vocational program. He has been an employee of the D’Andrea Group’s Dunkin’ Donuts at the 556 Boston Post Road Guilford since the fall of 2015.

Carlson works two to three days per week at Dunkin’ Donuts and is a tremendous asset to the restaurant. He has participated in sampling new Dunkin’ Donuts products to guests and has become a consistent face of the business to regular customers. Carlson is also a favorite among the staff, many of whom attend Guilford High School. Dunkin’ Donuts manager Fidel Nunez even named him the top “egg guy” in food preparation.
Carlson will be employed by the company at the culmination of his vocational program.

D’Andrea Group facebook.com/dandreagroup owns thirteen Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in the greater New Haven area. Franchisees, Nicole Ball, Frank D’Andrea and Francesco D’Andrea, along with their families, are longtime Special Olympics supporters, volunteers and coaches.
