Hamden Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert set for April 17th.

Hamden Symphony Orchestra concludes its 54th season of performances in the Greater New Haven area with a program of "Passion & Pathos" on Sunday, April 17th at 3 p.m. at Hamden Memorial Town Hall (2372 Whitney Avenue, Hamden CT 06518).

This performance features the winners of the orchestra's 2016 Young Musicians Concerto Competition: Violinists Sophie Baum & Kayla Bryan, and Pianist Gilbert Tsui in concertos by Bruch, Wieniawski, & Chopin respectively. The concert will conclude with Tchaikovsky's Symphony # 6, "Pathetique," the composer's final work, simultaneously grappling with fate and celebrating life in a thrilling and deeply poignant journey.
