High School Moves To Ban Student Cell Phone Use During Class: Report
As reported by the Branford High School student newspaper The Buzz, starting Monday, kids won't have access to their phones during classes.

BRANFORD, CT —Calling the use of cell phones disruptive and not conducive to learning, Branford High School is silencing their use beginning Monday, The Buzz, Branford High School's student newspaper, reports.
It's rare for a Gen Z kid to make phone calls, much less actually talk on a mobile, rather it's used to communicate in other ways, via text, direct messages on Instagram, for example. And primarily, kids use their 'phones,' to communicate via any number of social media apps, especially Snapchat, TikTok, Twitter and WhatsApp.
Students won't have access to the devices in classes but will, The Buzz reports, at lunch, when they change classes and during study halls. The paper noted a letter to families was sent home by Principal Lee Panagoulias to explain the new policy.
