Hiker Suffers Serious Head Injuries: Branford Police
An alert citizen called police and they responded to a local hiking trail.

BRANFORD, CT — A male hiker suffered serious injuries to his head on Wednesday, Branford police said.
Officers responded to the Beacon Hill trail for a man with blood on himself sitting on a bench. The caller was unsure what the circumstances were, police said.
The hiker had fallen, most likely was in the woods for several hours after the fall, and was able to make his way back out to the trail where he was spotted, police said.

Officers located him on the bench, determined he sustained what appeared to be serious injuries to his head, and tended to him until the Branford Fire Department arrived.
"We’re always thankful for alert citizens and our amazing Fire Department crews," police said.
