Hope Remains Under 24/7 Care For Now
The story of 'Hope' has gone international as the dog was a day or two away from death, animal shelter staff have said.

(Editor's Note: For those of you who haven't been following the story of Hope, you've missed a lot. Three weeks ago someone driving by saw a dog struggling to walk in Branford. She took the dog to the Dan Csogrove Animal Shelter and staff called it "one of the worst cases of animal cruelty" they had ever seen. Staff said the dog was starved and was a day or two away from death. Over the past three weeks, shelter staff have cared for the dog around the clock and named it 'Hope.' A reward of $5,000 has been issued by PETA for information on who did this to 'Hope.' The shelter has been providing daily updates concerning Hope's recovery.)

Hi Everyone,
Here is the Hope Update: Hope is doing amazing! She has gained about 18 pounds! She is eating , drinking, wagging her tail and playing! She has such a sweet personality to her. She has been around dogs, cats, and children and has been an absolute doll. She still will be under 24 hour care for at least the next 2-4 weeks. She is getting to be snuggled at night and cuddles in a bed.

In about 2 weeks we will reveal the vets who have been caring for her. We really have to say this again because it is so true……These people are amazing! They have all provided such phenomenal medical care AND emotional support for Hope. She loves them all and you see her eyes light up when she is with them. We are so very grateful for everything they have done. To sign up for Branford breaking news alerts and more, click here.
