'Incredible' Bill O'Brien Honored With Special Award, State Citation

Branford's Bill O'Brien received a citation this week for his 38 years of leadership​ on the town's Economic Development Commission​.

BRANFORD, CT — Branford's Bill O'Brien received a special recognition award and a state citation this week for his 38 years of leadership on the town's Economic Development Commission. He was honored at the Commission meeting held Dec. 21.


On Wednesday morning, state Rep. Robin Comey posted to Facebook.

"State Senator Christine Cohen and I joined the Branford Economic Development Commission to present a citation to the incredible Bill O'Brien for his 38 years of leadership on that committee," she wrote.

First Selectman James Cosgrove, former First Selectman Unk DaRos and former Selectwoman Judy Gott "came out for the chance to say thank you, too," Comey wrote.

And O'Brien responded.

"Many thanks Robin. It was a very nice reception, and I was honored to see you, Christine, Unk and Judy among the members of the Branford EDC. Even Santa was there. How great was that? Thank you very much for your thoughtfulness."
