Today, August 1, the Blackstone Library is rolling out a new intiative: supporting Branford schools and their summer reading program by offering 20 new iPads for checkout. These iPads will let Branford school kids access myOn, an ebook reading program that lets kids find and read books that are just right for them.
Kids can come to the library and with a valid library card (or parents' library card), borrow an iPad for use within the library. They can find their ebook, get cozy and get comfortable using an iPad. We're so excited to be able to give kids another way to access their reading and to get familiar with new technology. Questions? For now, these iPads are only for kids to use. We want to support summer reading as much as possible! In the fall, we're going to explore more programs - for kids AND adults - that make use of these iPads.
