Janet Guerrieri, 72 of East Haven, a beloved Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great-grandmother and Aunt passed away unexpectedly at home on August 8, 2026. Born on February 3, 1954, in the Serene Mountains of Utuado, Puerto Rico, Janet was the cherished daughter of Cecilia Rivera.

She was a guiding light in the lives of many, and her heart knew no bounds. Throughout her life, Janet embodied love and generosity, nurturing not only her immediate family but all who were blessed to know her.

Janet was predeceased by her beloved mother, Cecilia Rivera, and her dear brother, Michael Negron, whose memories she always cherished. Janet's legacy continues through her devoted family: her sisters Muriel, with partner Frank, Janet's dear friend. Doris, with her husband Ronnie; her brothers Ivan, Frank, and Robert, her four daughters, Jina Puccino, with her partner Billy Schmidt, Julie Puccino-Vartuli, with her husband Jason, Jessica Puccino, and Taylor Guerrieri and partner Mike Lawlor. Her love also extended to her six grandchildren: Ashley Puccino, with partner Mat, John Cousins, with wife Katie, Dominique Vartuli, with Brian, affectionately known as Brock, Angelica Vartuli with her partner Mark, Gabriella Chiaraluce, with her partner Christian, and Juliana Vartuli, with partner Xavier. Janet's joy was further enriched by her two great-granddaughters, Nyx and Briella. Briella, who brought endless smiles to Janet's days. Janet's nurturing spirit extended beyond her family, as she was affectionately known as "Mom" to everyone who crossed her path. She leaves behind countless nieces and nephews who adored her deeply.

The family kindly requests that those wishing to honor Janet’s memory consider making a donation to a charity of their choice. The family shares this special message: "Mom, Sister, Nonnie, and Auntie we will miss you dearly. Your love and dedication were immeasurable." Janet's warmth and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her, a testament to a life beautifully lived.

In keeping with Janet’s wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor her life and legacy.
