BRANFORD, CT — Sometimes, all you need is a picture. Not sure what we love more: the letters from kids to Branford Police Officer John Cassella or the expression on his face in the photographs shared by his department on Facebook — a very wide smile.

Hearkening back to the days where beat cops walked it, community police officers continue in that tradition of working within the community in an effort to make a lasting positive impact in the communities they serve.

These kids won't likely forget his visit.
