Large Amount of Heroin Seized in Branford, Arrest Made of Convicted Felon: State Police

A local man is being held on a $100,000 bond. Guns were also seized.

Branford, CT - State Police made a large heroin and gun seizure at a Branford condominium which led to the arrest of a local man, who is also a convicted felon, authorities said in a news release.

More than 100 baggies of heroin was seized along with a semi-auto pistol and ammunition and a pellet-gun rifle, State Police said.

The Statewide Urban Violence & Cooperative Crime Control (SUVCCC) Task Force, comprised of State Troopers and Bridgeport Police Officers, executed a search and seizure warrant in Branford resulting in an arrest following a heroin and gun seizure.

On June 22, 2016 at 3 p.m. detectives from SUVCCC executed a search and seizure warrant on a residence located at 125 Florence Road, Unit 2C in the Branford Hills Condo complex in Branford. The residence is occupied by Ryan Patton, 33, of Florence Road, State Police said.

The search and seizure warrant was the result of a several months-long investigation into the sale of heroin from the residence by Ryan Patton, according to the news release.

Upon executing the search and seizure warrant, detectives seized 103 baggies of heroin (25 Grams), 21.3 grams of hard-packed/uncut heroin, drug paraphernalia and packaging materials which are all the components of a drug factory, $835.00 in U.S. cash, a loaded .45 caliber Ruger semi-auto pistol and ammunition, a .22 caliber pellet-gun/rifle as well as a facsimile pistol, State Police said.

Patton is a convicted felon who is prohibited from possessing firearms or ammunition. Patton was also in possession of 50 baggies of heroin (12 grams), State Police said.

Ryan Patton was taken into custody and transported to Troop G - Bridgeport were he was fingerprinted and photographed. Patton was released on bond pending his court date.

All items seized were also transported to Troop G where they were held as evidence. He is charged with operating a drug factory, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, criminal possession of a firearm, criminal possession of ammunition, and illegal transfer of firearms.

He was held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.
