The town asks that leaves are left out the night before collection day, be placed in brown paper leaf bags or loose in garbage cans. It's noted that folks should "never place leaves in plastic bags ...even if the bags claim to be biodegradable." Leaves in plastic bags will not be picked up.
Other guidelines include picking up all litter first and never mixing leaves with rocks, soil, branches or other debris. And, 'eaves should never be raked into the street, piled at the curb, or placed in wetlands, streams, drains or Branford Land Trust property.
