
BRANFORD, CT – After 12 seasons calling the shots, Coach Rich Balzano is officially retiring from the Branford Senior American Legion baseball team.
According to Shore Publishing, the 61-year-old coach announced his retirement last week.
Under Balzano’s tenure, the team took state and regional championship titles four times, according to Shore Publishing.

He’s the “only head coach in the history of Connecticut American Legion baseball to guide a team to the World Series on four occasions,” Shore Publishing reports.
Balzano told the paper he is planning to work, travel and get a little r & r during his retirement.
