House Destroyed In Branford Fire: Report
Fire crews battled the fire on Saturday night.

BRANFORD, CT — A major house fire was reported on Long Point Road Saturday night, according to multiple media reports including WTNH News 8. Branford Firefighters said it was a second alarm fire on Long Point Road. One house was fully engulfed in flames, firefighters said around 7 p.m.
The Fire Department asked the water company to increase water pressure to assist firefighters. The house was a total loss and the remnants were demolished, the Fire Department says.
Branford Fire Department said, "Companies overcame steep terrain, narrow access, downed wires and multiple exposures as they battled a fully involved home in Stony Creek last night. The main fire was knocked within 20 minutes but took several hours to fully extinguish due to the instability of the structure. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported. The homeowners were out of State at the time of the fire and are being assisted by family and friends. BFD would like to thank Guilford Fire Department and East Haven Firefighters Local 1205 for their assistance at the scene and covering Stations."
