Man, 33, Charged With Sexual Assault, Risk Of Injury To Child

BRANFORD, CT — A 33-year-old man who police said has a vehicle as his address, was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault in a case involving a juvenile, Branford Police Capt. David Galdenzi said.

Louis J. Acompora was also charged Monday by Branford Police with risk of injury to a child. Galdenzi said that the department's Youth Division detective Dave Atkinson is investigating the case.

The sexual assault charge is a Class A misdemeanor and the risk of injury charge is a Class C felony, court records show. Acompara was given a $15,000 bail but as of Tuesday evening, was unable to post it so remained in custody.

Acompora is due in court July 2.
