Man, 81, Tried To Kill His Wife With A Kitchen Knife: Branford Police
BREAKING: Police officers arrived as the accused was on the ground trying to stab his wife, police said.

BRANFORD, CT — An 81-year-old man is accused of trying to stab his 74-year-old wife with a kitchen knife, Branford Police said. A Branford police officer was able to stop the assault from proceeding, police said.
Anthony Delucia, 81, was arrested just after 5 a.m. Thursday when police received 911 calls from neighbors complaining of a domestic dispute, police said.
When Officers Erik Suraci and Sean Rubano arrived at Delucia’s home at 26 Turtle Bay Drive, they found Anthony outside of the residence struggling on the ground, with his 74-year-old wife, attempting to stab her with a kitchen knife, police said. Suraci was able to immediately subdue Anthony and take him into custody, police said.

Paramedics from the Branford Fire Department treated the victim at the scene for lacerations to her hands. She was later transported to an area medical facility for further evaluation and treatment, police said.
Delucia was charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Murder, Assault Second Degree on an Elderly Victim and Breach of Peace Second Degree. He is being held on a $500,000 bond and will be arraigned in New Haven Court this morning.
