The man had been sentenced to serve the next nine years in prison. BREAKING

BRANFORD, CT — Brian Page, 43, of Guilford, was indicted this week by a New Haven grand jury with one count of failure to surrender for service of his federal sentence, federal authorities said.
According to court documents and statements made in court, on October 17, 2017, U.S. District Judge Alvin W. Thompson sentenced Page in Hartford to 97 months of imprisonment, followed by four years of supervised release, for his role in a scheme to distribute oxycodone that was obtained through fraudulent prescriptions.
Thompson ordered Page, who was released on a $200,000 bond, to surrender for service of his sentence on November 17, federal officials said. Page was designated by the Bureau of Prisons to the Federal Correctional Institute at Fort Dix, New Jersey.

The charge of failure to surrender for service of a federal sentence carries a maximum term of imprisonment of 10 years, which must be imposed consecutively to the underlying sentence.
