Marilyn (Bittner) Sisson obituary: Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, East Haven

Marilyn (Bittner) Sisson, 92 of East Haven passed away June 22, 2026 at ARK Healthcare in Branford. She was born September 5, 1933 in New Haven to Irving and Mary (Earley) Bittner. Marilyn is survived by her three children; Linda Sisson of New Haven, Patricia Prata of PA and Robert Sisson (Ester) of Hawaii along with seven grandchildren; Jennifer Dadio, Kimberly Dadio, Jessica Dadio, Madelyn Teada (Matthew), Deidra Prata, Robert Sisson and Alexandra Sisson. She is also survived by four great grandchildren; James, Avery, Lucianna and Marylin Dadio, a brother, Joseph Bittner (Virginia) of East Haven and numerous nieces/nephews and friends.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert Sisson.

Marilyn attended Woodward School, Fair Haven Junior High School and was the second graduating class of Wilbur Cross High School. She then attended St. Raphael School of Nursing graduating in 1954. As a nurse she worked at St. Raphael Hospital, Winchester Repeating Arms, East Haven Visiting Nurses and 15 years at C. Cowles & Company as an industrial nurse.

Family will receive friends on Monday June 29, 2026 from 4 to 7 PM in the Clancy-Palumbo Funeral Home, 43 Kirkham Ave., East Haven. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 30 at 11 AM in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at the Church of St. Vincent de Paul, 80 Taylor Ave., East Haven. Burial will be private at a later date in East Lawn Cemetery, East Haven.
