Middle School Student Arrested, Accused Of Making Threat: Branford PD

Police said officers were on scene at Walsh Wednesday afternoon in response to a threat that was called in to the school.

BRANFORD, CT — A middle school student has been charged and is accused of making a threat against Walsh Intermediate School, police said.

The lockdown of the school has been cancelled, police said.

The student has been referred to juvenile court and other appropriate services, police said. "The Police Department would like to thank the public for their support and for providing vital information regarding this case which led to a swift resolution," police said in a social media post.

Police said officers were on scene at Walsh Wednesday afternoon in response to a threat that was called in to the school. The school was then placed into a lockdown by school officials. Most of the students had already been released due to a scheduled “early release” day at the school, police said. There was extra police presence at the schools on Wednesday.
