Mike Olt - Minor League Baseball Update
Olt, a Branford native, is a member of the Boston Red Sox organization.

BRANFORD, CT – After his first month-and-a-half playing for the Red Sox AA affiliate in Portland, Maine the good news for Mike Olt is he is second on the team in home runs, with five, and RBIs, with 18.
The bad new is he’s only hitting .206 and has struck out a team high 42 times.

Olt, the former UConn graduate who grew up in Branford, signed with Red Sox in the pre-season.
He has been playing some third base, first base and doing some designated hitting for Portland, which is 21-20 in the Eastern League standings, currently in fourth place.

In first place in the division is the New York Yankees affiliate, the Trenton Thunder, with a 29-16 record.
