'More Than Just A Meal,' The Community Dining Room Serves, And Needs

BRANFORD, CT —Founded in 1985, the Community Dining Room helps address the needs of Branford, North Branford, East Haven, and Guilford, providing "food, support, and companionship." Now, it's in need of donations to help do its work in these shoreline towns.

Community Dining Room is holding a drive-by food drive Saturday. And donations may be made at the Blackstone Library now through Nov. 30 in the donation boxes in the lobby. The Community Dining Room is also seeking donations of diapers and baby wipes.

For food donations, it's in most need of:

• Pasta (penne, ziti, elbows, lasagna)
• Egg Noodles
• Chicken Broth
• Salad Dressing (Italian and ranch)
• Balsamic Vinegar
• Red Wine Vinegar
• Low Sodium Soy Sauce
• Olive Oil
• Canned Tomatoes (crushed or diced)
• Spaghetti Sauces
• BBQ Sauce
• Grated Cheese
• Cream of Chicken Soup
• Cream of Mushroom Soup

• Mashed Potatoes, instant
• Canned Carrots and Spinach
• Spices (Italian blend and garlic powder)
