Neighbors Helping Neighbors: Weekly YMCA Food Drives

BRANFORD, CT — As the needs in our community are greater than ever, the Soundview Family YMCA, a branch of the Central Connecticut Coast YMCA is hosting a series of food drives to benefit our local food pantries.

Each Tuesday from now until June 2, the Soundview Family Y will be collecting donations of non-perishable foods, cleaning supplies and household staples for the people served by our local food pantries.

“Now is the time for all of us to support each other. It is important to the Y that everyone in our community remains healthy and safe,” Soundview Family YMCA Executive Director Matt LaPrino said. “We are hoping to fill the YMCA bus each week with much-needed food for those who need it most.”

Each week, the food collected will be donated to the designated pantry;

• May 12: North Branford Food Pantry
• May 19: East Haven Food Pantry
• May 26: Madison Food Pantry
• June 2: Guilford Food Bank

Help us by donating non-perishable foods, cleaning supplies and household staples for the people served by our local food pantries. Collection times will be 10-1pm on Tuesdays now through June 2.
